Dr Jiaxin Du is the Facility Scientist – Imaging Processing and Analysis at The University of Queensland’s Centre for Advanced Imaging. He was awarded his PhD in Neuroscience in 2016 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre.

His research focuses on three different but interconnected areas: Firstly, understanding brain functions by simulating large-scale realistic neuronal networks; Secondly, developing novel magnetic resonance techniques to measure the small currents produced by neuronal activity (namely neuronal currents) in the brain non-invasively; Thirdly, developing portable and cost-effective ultra-low field MRI instrumentation for point-of-care imaging, including remote hospitals and battlefield imaging.
