Special international guest, Dr Annapurna Poduri, (Associate, Department of Neurology; Director, Epilepsy Genetics Program;
Associate Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School), Boston Children’s Hospital, presents a special CAI seminar: 

Zebrafish Studies in Epilepsy​

Dr Annapurna Poduri will cover the rapid rise of genetic discovery in epilepsy and the need for functional studies to delve into the mechanisms of brain dysfunction that lead to epilepsy. The potential for zebrafish models of epilepsy, including drug screening studies, will be discussed.

Bio: Dr Poduri is a clinician-scientist focused on understanding the genetic causes of human epilepsy. She is a pediatric neurologist and the director of the Programs in Neurogenetics and Epilepsy Genetics at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her role is to evaluate the contribution of epilepsy and its genetics to sudden death.

Dr Poduri serves as an expert for the Department of Neurology for Boston Children's Hospital Precision Medicine Service.
