Researcher biography

Dr Jin Jin (PhD, 2013) is an Honorary Fellow with the Centre for Advanced Imaging, The University of Queensland (UQ). While employed by Siemens Healthcare, he is actively participating in training postdoctoral fellows and PhD students through the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre for Innovation in Biomedical Imaging Technology (CIBIT). His area of research is focused on developing new technologies to enhance the capabilities of ultra-high field (UHF) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), including novel radiofrequency transmitter/receiver coils, imaging pulse sequences and reconstruction algorithms.

Jin completed his doctoral research and postdoctoral training at the UQ School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE).  He then joined the research and development team of Siemens Medical Solutions, USA, overseeing the research collaborations with the University of Southern California (USC), where the USA first new generation UHF-MRI system, MAGNETOM Terra, is based. In 2019, Jin moved back to Brisbane to facilitate the collaborations with Australian research institutes. He is currently an adjunct fellow with the ITEE, UQ, and holding an honorary position with the USC's Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute.
