Diffusion Professional Short Course at CAI

9 October 2017

The Introduction to Magnetic Resonance Diffusion professional short course was run over the 7th and 8th of October. We had a small but diverse cohort of PhD students, radiographers, postdoctoral researchers and undergrads. Day one covered the basics of diffusion physics with participants learning how to acquire diffusion weighed MR and the simple to complex ways of collecting and modelling data. Various techniques and applications were discussed well as suitability of different methods depending on scenario and desired collection of information. Day two comprised of the practical sessions which led the group through collection of images to complex analysis.

Students feedback was that they “enjoyed the variety of exposure”, with the “technical information being supported by applications as well as case studies”. They found the course was “very well explained”. If you are interested in learning more see the Short Courses page or contact our education team.

Short Course students gain access to hands on experience in CAI's world class imaging facilities. Pictured here with the 7T MRI scanner.
